Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Anchor Paws Rescue. We ask that you complete this application as thoroughly as possible, as this information will help us determine appropriate suitability between you and our dogs. We check references and conduct a home visit as part of the application process. If you rent we must have your landlord’s name and phone number to verify you are allowed to have a dog. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant based on the information provided or based on the results of the application process, with or without disclosure of cause. In the event that we discover that any information entered on this application has been knowingly falsified, we reserve the right to reclaim possession of the dog.
PLEASE NOTE: We require a donation for each adopted dog to help defray the costs of veterinary care for our rescued dogs. Each dog’s specific adoption donation will be noted in the dog’s profile. Also, at the time of adoption, you will be required to sign a contract committing to the care of the dog, and a rescue volunteer will be responsible for confirming that you have visited a vet and obtained heartworm preventative within the time allotted.
If you are not approved to adopt, or we cannot provide the dog you are interested in, your deposit will be promptly refunded. If you are approved, the deposit is applied toward the total donation of the dog. If the dog you are interested in is not a good match, we will work with you to find another dog, and your deposit will be transferred to that dog. If you change your mind for any reason, your deposit is not refundable!
There is no fee to submit an application on our website. A deposit is not required until you have selected a dog that you are interested in adopting and are ready to proceed with the adoption approval process.
