We are a community resource center bringing animals and people together. We provide adoption, education, and fostering services in a professional and compassionate way.
We receive no federal or state funding and rely solely on community donations and adoption fees to support our care for the animals.

Adopt
Thank you for your interest in adopting from Anchor Paws Rescue! We rescue dogs and cats locally and from various states throughout the US. Each animal’s bio will note where the animal is currently located. Our adoption donation includes transport to the Northeast.
Begin the adoption process by viewing our Available Dogs, Available Cats, and Courtesy Posts.
If you see an animal that you are interested in, you can fill out an application here. There is no fee to complete an application.
If the animal is local, you can set up a meet and greet. Contact the foster parent listed on the pet’s bio with any questions about the pet.
Once you have chosen a dog or cat and decide that you would like to move forward with the approval process, the next step would be to submit a $200 deposit. You can pay your deposit securely through PayPal at this link:
The adoption approval process includes contacting your vet and personal references, and a home visit. Once approved, the deposit amount paid will be applied toward the total adoption donation. The final step is to complete and adoption contract.
If you are not approved to adopt, or we cannot provide the pet you are interested in, your deposit will be promptly refunded. If you are approved, the deposit is applied toward the total donation of the dog or cat. If the dog or cat you are interested in is not a good match, we will work with you to find another pet, and your deposit will be transferred to that animal. If you change your mind for any reason, your deposit is not refundable!
